History of the “Shohrud” plant

The wine-making enterprise JSC “Shokhrud” is one of the oldest operating wineries in Uzbekistan. The enterprise was founded in 1936 in the ancient city of Bukhara, which is located in the heart of the “Silk Road” on the basis of the wine point, the base of “Uzvinsnabsbyt” was created, which was eventually renamed the Bukhara wholesale base “Uzbekvino”. In 1938, the first wine bottling workshop was built at the enterprise.
Despite the difficult war period of the 1940-1950s, funds were found for a radical reconstruction of the plant, and the equipment for primary and secondary winemaking was replaced with high-performance equipment.
Thus, the real transformation from handicraft to large-scale industrial production took place in 1940. In essence, Bukhara Winery No. 9, part of Uzglavvino, began its existence from that time. The following wineries were subordinated to it: Karakul, Sverdlov, Yangi-Bozor, Shafirkon, Buston, Galla-Asia. Then the following wineries were added: Kesken Terek, Dzhilvan, Kuyu-Mazar.
In 1975, the Bukhara winery was transferred to the newly organized association “Uzplodoovoshchvinprom”.

In all the transformations of the organizational structure of the industry: the Ministry of Fruit and Vegetable Industry of the Uzbek SSR – 1981, the Concern “Uzplodoovoshchvinprom” – 1994, and later the Holding Company “Uzplodoovoshchvinprom-holding” – 1997, the Bukhara winery was part of these structures.
In connection with the proposal of foreign companies to purchase finished products in exchange for equipment, as well as for the purpose of a qualified solution to emerging issues between the processing industry and agriculture, in 1991, on the basis of the Bukhara winery, the Agrofirm “Shokhrud” was created, which included specialized farms.
By decision of the general meeting of founders, the minutes of the meeting and on the basis of the order of the Bukhara territorial 9th department of the State Property Committee No. 440 dated 12/30/1994, the enterprise was transformed into a joint-stock company “Shokhrud”, on the basis of the purchase of state property with the transfer of the authorized capital to the workforce.
Comprehensive program for the development and technical re-equipment of production for the period 2009-2013. the following has been accomplished:
A new bottling line for vodka and liquor products with a capacity of 6,000 bottles/hour, manufactured in Italy and China, was put into operation in 2009 – 100 thousand US dollars;
